I have been involved with photography since the early 1970's and started own photographic business in 1989 which ran until my retirement in 2016. During this period i offered services in Wedding/Portrait/Commercial and Industrial Photography undertaking assignments for countless private individuals, a large number of both large and small companies, including many household names.

I gained my Licentiate Qualifications from The Master Photographers Association in Photography, Video and Digital Imaging. I also gained Associateship Qualifications from The Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers and The British Professional Photographers Association, though I now no longer subscribe to membership of either organisation.

I have been past regional chairman of the Master Photographers Association East Anglian Region (Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire). Chairman of The Master Photographers Association Education and Training Committee. Winning the Master Photographers Association East Anglian Region Commercial and Industrial photographic award and countless BPPA national monthly commercial and industrial photography awards.

I have also tutored in City and Guilds 9231 photography (with 100% pass rate for students) in various modules. Tutored in the use of Photoshop and Lightroom. Spent a number of years as BBC Radio Essex Sound Advice photography expert, giving advice to the public during live radio broadcasts doing approximately 6x2 hour programme sessions a year. I have also established in house photographic studio's for major companies and advised on equipment and techniques.

My latest award has been attained through The Leica Society winning the Oscar Barnack Trophy for the best pair of large Black & White prints in their annual exhibition 2011.

Many people have asked if I would provide personalised tuition and training. Having in the past taught at Adult Education classes City & Guilds 9231 modules covering many aspects of photography from Starting Out in photography through to specialised subjects such as portrature, landscape, history of photography, printing and mounting and a number of other subjects. Having considered these requests I decided to offer my services to individuals and small groups. Rather than to have a formalised structured scheme I intend to specifically to cater for what the particular individual/group requires. This may take the form of a group lecture on a particular subject at a club or it may be that one to one or small groups require on going series of tutorials to cover a range of subjects and techniques. It could be that some people/groups may want me to accompany them on a trip or a visit somewhere to advise and show them what to do on that day.

It is not beyond the realms of possibility to even conduct the training/tuitions via an on-line email course. I am open to enquiries and only too pleased to chat to someone in order to work out exactly how I may be able to help and structure a session/s to suit. Just mail me! It matters not to me what type of camera and equipment you use/own, from a compact through to an all singing and dancing state of the art SLR. I will tailor tuition to help you get the best from what you have. I can even help and assist with training on PC or Mac computers for post processing your images to achieve an effect. Mail me with details of what you are interested in learning or need help with and I will try and come up with a meaningful session/s.
